The First 90 Days program
First 90 Days is a free program from Shelter Partner, offered through the animal shelter you adopted from. After you sign up you get a text each day for your first 30 days, then about once a week until day 90. Each text links to a page with guidance for your dog. Signing up is optional and is not a condition of adopting.
Text messaging terms
- Program name: First 90 Days (Shelter Partner).
- What you'll get: tips and reminders about your newly adopted dog, with a link to that day's page. No ads or promotions.
- How often: about 1 message per day: daily for days 1 to 30, then 9 more over days 37 to 90. If you turn on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm reminders, you'll also get 1 message per month until you turn them off. You'll also get a one-time confirmation when you sign up, replies to HELP, STOP, and START, and, if you tap the “reacts to other dogs” button, one text with a link to that help page.
- Msg & data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan.
- To stop: reply STOP to any message. You'll get one confirmation and no more texts. Reply START to resume.
- For help: reply HELP, call your shelter's helpline, or email [contact email not set].
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We send texts between 8 AM and 9 PM in the time zone you choose.
- If you change or give up your mobile number, reply STOP first so texts don't go to the number's next owner.
Not veterinary or behavior advice
Program pages and the “Is this normal?” chat give general information about dogs. They are not a substitute for a veterinarian, a qualified trainer, or your shelter. Chat answers are generated by AI and can be wrong. In an emergency, or if your dog has bitten someone or shown aggression toward people, contact your vet, an emergency vet, or ASPCA Animal Poison Control at 888-426-4435 right away.
Local listings and sponsors
Pages may list local pet businesses and credit a sponsor. We don't endorse or guarantee them; any arrangement you make with them is between you and the business.
What you upload
Photos and messages you send (such as happy tails updates) go to your shelter, which may share them to celebrate adoptions. Only upload photos you have the right to share.

Changes and ending the program
We may change or end the program. If we make a material change to the texting terms we'll tell you by text first.
